Boutique Hotels

Boutique Hotels are popping up rapidly among urban cities and making a statement in the hotel industry. They are often designed with a theme/stylish manner that reflects the location it is in, giving them a very personal touch where visitors are made to feel part of the experience rather than just a passive consumer. Shaping the identity of an up-and-coming area is key to creating a successful boutique hotel and I love the fun, uniqueness of them! They are one of a kind gems! My goal in the next five years is to design boutique hotels and I love to gain inspiration from the ones popping up around the globe!

The Graduate Hotel is a wonderful example that I stayed in last year in Charlottesville, Virginia! The design takes you back to the glory days of college with an added twist of luxury. It is so fun and ties together so many unique patterns and textures you can't help but smile when you're in their spaces!

The Meridian is an Urbanica Hotel that just opened this year in Miami, Florida. The style is urban, contemporary and artsy, drawing from local craftsmanship and creativity. I absolutely LOVE the welcome desk made of vintage luggage and the walls painted by a local artist to incorporate Miami's Wynwood Art District.

Another beautiful example is the Barbuda Belle which combines luxurious beach bungalow get-away with fun boutique-style flair! The spaces feel very romantic, warm and natural, making you feel at home yet holding all of the qualities to ensure relaxation and rest. I love this combination of natural materials and warm, dramatic lighting.
